AFC Championship Odds

After failing to make it to the Super Bowl last season the New England Patriots retooled and reloaded, and thanks to those offseason moves the Bodog oddsmakers think the Pats will be on their way to the big game again in February.
After struggling with a mediocre passing game last season New England bulked up big-time by adding Randy Moss, Donte' Stallworth and Wes Welker for Tom Brady to play with. Laurence Maroney will be the featured back this year after Corey Dillon was dropped and he should be able to carry the load. On defense the Pats also made an upgrade by grabbing Adalius Thomas from Baltimore. The hulking linebacker should fit well in Bill Belichick's system. If the Pats could find a way to bring cornerback Asante Samuel back into the fold they would be all set. The Bodog oddsmakers have the Pats set as a huge 11/10 AFC favorites.
If the Patriots don't take the AFC this season it looks like it will be the Chargers. San Diego dumped Marty Schottenheimer in favor of Norv Turner, which could help them get over the playoff hump. LaDainian Tomlinson is without question the best running back in the league, while Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates are hard for any defense to stop. The Chargers' defense is just plain fierce, led by sackmaster Shawne Merriman. The Chargers come in at 7/2 at Bodog.
Bodog didn't forget about the Super Bowl champion Colts, as they have listed Indy at 9/2. The Colts will never have trouble scoring with Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Joseph Addai on board.
The Colts' major weakness is their suspect defense which could cost them a shot at a repeat.
