College Football Betting - Key Match Ups - Week 8
By WT Staff
#15 Florida Gators (4-2) -7 at #7 Kentucky Wildcats (6-0) - This is another big game for Kentucky after beating #1 LSU last week. If the Wildcats can win this game they will be in good position to get a BCS Bowl Game. Florida needs a win to stay in contention for a major bowl game. Wildcats leading rusher Rafael Little is out for the game with injury.
#21 Tennessee Volunteers (4-2) + 1.5 at Alabama Crimson Tide (5-2) - This is a huge SEC game as the loser will have three losses and kiss their chance at a major bowl game goodbye.
#14 USC Trojans (5-1) at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1-6) - USC needs a strong showing in this game to get back in the national championship race after a shocking loss to Stanford two weeks ago. For USC John David Booty should start after missing last week's game with a broken finger. Evan Sharpley is the third starting QB for the Fighting Irish this year.
#17 Auburn Tigers (5-2) at #4 LSU Tigers (6-1) -12 - LSU needs to get back on track after losing in 3 overtimes to Kentucky last week. They cannot take Auburn for granted, as they are a strong team. If LSU losses their national championship aspirations are finished.
Michigan State Spartans (5-2) at #1 Ohio State Buckeyes (7-0) -17.5 - This will be a tough Big Ten test for the new #1 team in the nation. Even though the point spread is big the Spartans are a tough team. Can the Spartans win making it three weeks in a row the #1 team in the nation has lost?
#12 Californaia Golden Bears (5-1) at UCLA Bruins (4-2) - Cal looks to get back on track after suffering the first loss of the season at home against Oregon State. The Bruins have been up and down this season but can really set themselves up for a decent bowl game with a victory at home against Cal. Cal QB Nate Longshore is probable but UCLA may start walk on McLeod Bethel-Thompson, as starting QB Ben Olsen is out and backup QB Patrick Cowan is questionable.
