NCAA Betting Report - Week 5
By WT Staff
Well week 4 has come and past and there were some huge upsets with #5 West Virginia, #3 Oklahoma, #4 Florida, and #7 Texas all losing. All those dog bettors are laughing all the way to the bank. #1 USC and #6 Cal barely hung on to win but survived to remain undefeated. In week 5 the Straight Up Dog bettors were hit hard as they were 55-193 for a payout percentage of 22.18% and the away Dogs had it tough going 33-138 for a measly 19.30% payout percentage. Straight Up home favorites bettors are sitting pretty for week 5 having the best week going 138-33 for an 80.70% payout percentage. Straight Up favorites also fared well both having payout percentages in the 70% range.
Against the Spread bettors pretty much broke even all across the board as every payout percentages were in the 47% to 53% range. I'd say that's pretty even. Home bettors Against the Spread had the best record in week 5 going 90-81 for a payout percentage of 52.63%. The least lucky, if you can call it that being so even, in week 5 went to the away Dog bettors going 81-90 for a payout percentage of 47.37%. Even though there were some big upsets, against the spread was pretty even.
Over the whole season the home favorites Straight Up are leading the pack going 136-31 for an impressive payout percentage of 81.44%. Those betting Straight Up on the Away Dogs may not to buy any lottery tickets with their bad luck as for the season have gone 31-136 for a weak payout percentage of 18.56%. These bettors aren't moving into a higher tax bracket anytime soon. Almost mirroring week 5 the overall Against the Spread payout percentages are pretty even across the board. The highest payout percentage is 52.69% for the home favorites going 88-79. The lowest payout percentage for Against the Spread is 47.31% for Away Dogs, as they have gone 79-88 for the season. The season is nearing the halfway point with big games played and bigger games coming. Good luck.
